World’s first 660 MW CFB steam power unit begins operations in China [Video]

Furthering its lead in the energy sector, China has installed and tested an advanced high-efficiency steam generator.

The ultra-supercritical circulating fluidized bed (CFB) power generation unit has a rated power capacity of 660MW and is claimed to be the world’s first – boasting the highest specifications and the largest single-unit capacity.

The unit, developed by Harbin Electric Corporation (HEC), has been commissioned in association with the Binchang Project in Shaanxi, a demonstration initiative endorsed by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Energy Administration in China.
