President-elect Donald Trump reiterated his support for his pick to lead the Department of Defense, saying “Pete Hegseth is doing very well.”

He will be a fantastic, high energy, Secretary of Defense…Pete is a WINNER, and there is nothing that can be done to change that!!!” Trump wrote in a post on his Truth Social media platform on Friday.

Hegseth’s Nomination

Hegseth, a former Fox News host, Army National Guard major and combat veteran, spent the week on Capitol Hill working to secure his Cabinet nomination. Behind closed doors, he sought to reassure Republican senators of his qualifications to lead Trump’s Pentagon.
