Workplace dissatisfaction is on the rise, with a new survey of 20,000 workers revealing that more than half are actively seeking a new job. But for those considering a fresh start in the tech industry, a recent study highlights the best—and worst—states to pursue a career in technology.
Class Central, an online course aggregator, analyzed College Scorecard data to rank states based on three factors: the percentage of tech degrees awarded, the median earnings of tech graduates four years after graduation, and the cost of tuition.
Topping the list is Alaska, scoring 7.31 out of 10. Tech graduates there earn a median salary of $76,773—an impressive 146% higher than the median earnings of all other graduates in the state. Alaska also boasts nine schools offering tech programs, with an average annual tuition of $12,982.
