Something to look forward to: Epic Games has announced Ballistic, an all-new mode that turns Fortnite into a fresh first-person squad shooter. This 5v5 competitive mode differs entirely from the third-person battle royale mode. The new gameplay emphasizes tactical strategy, teamwork, and individual skill and should provide a nice change of pace for those who feel the BR game has grown stale.
Ballistic provides intense, round-based gameplay with two teams (attackers and defenders) facing off on the Skyline 10 map. Attackers must plant and protect a “Rift Point Device” at specific locations while defenders strategize to prevent activation. Matches are a race to seven wins, with sides swapping after six rounds of play. While this might seem like a lot, there is no respawning, so rounds are quick. Dead is dead, so each round demands precision and careful planning.
