CONNECTICUT, USA — The new year comes with a new way for Connecticut consumers to protect their data online.
“You’d have to essentially reject each and every website if you were trying to protect your privacy, right? So every time you visited a new website, you had a new little pop-up and you had to tell that website that you did not want to be tracked,” explained Wayne Unger, assistant professor of law at Quinnipiac University.
Starting Jan. 1, 2025, Connecticut consumers can choose to opt out of targeted advertising and the sale of their personal data online all in one place.
