Thomas Tuchel is making early progress in his new role as England national-team coach, with a reputable source reporting a former Chelsea player — now part of the club’s backroom staff — has handed in his resignation at Stamford Bridge to join the Three Lions setup.
Portuguese ex-goalkeeper Hilario, now a coach who worked under Tuchel during his successful but ultimately ill-fated spell as Chelsea boss, has informed the club of his intention to depart, per Matt Law at The Telegraph.
He joins Anthony Barry — Tuchel’s assistant — and Chelsea’s former head of performance analysis, James Melbourne, as part of the German’s team when he officially takes the reins on January 1.
