With the nation eagerly counting down to Election Day, some Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) are gearing up to play their part in ensuring a transparent electoral process.
The Coalition of Civil Society Organisations for Transparent Elections (COCTE), led by Convenor David Kumi Addo, has announced its decision to proceed with independent election monitoring, undeterred by the Electoral Commission‘s (EC) decision to withhold accreditation to them.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, December 5, 2024, David Kumi Addo declared that the coalition will proceed with its plans, pointing out their responsibility as Ghanaians to promote transparency.
He stressed that COCTE is determined to provide accurate and credible data, in line with the work of media houses and other election observers such as the Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO).
